Keeping your HSeLanD profile accurate is essential to ensure you get the most out of the platform. Here’s why it matters:
Access to the right learning resources
Your organisation and work location determine which courses you can access. If this information is incorrect:
- You may not see training relevant to your role.
- You could complete courses that do not apply to you. This can lead to non-compliance with mandatory training and waste valuable time.
Smooth transitions
If you change roles or update your contact details, keeping your profile current ensures your learning history and progress follow you.
Communication
HSeLanD may use your email address to:
- Notify you when a course is about to expire.
- Allow course instructors to contact you if needed.
Security and account recovery
Up to date details, such as your email address, MFA settings, and security questions, make it easier to recover your account if you forget your login credentials.
Updating your HSeLanD account
When you sign in, your current registration details will be displayed. For example, in the screenshot below, I am registered as a Public Health Nurse with Dublin Midlands Hospitals Group.
If you are on the Mandatory training status page and need to update your registration, you should click on the 'update your profile' link.
If you are on the homepage and need to update your registration, you should access the Common Notification Bar and then select 'Update profile'.
The first stage of updating your profile is to update or confirm your personal details, which include:
- Forename.
- Surename.
- Email.
- What county are you currently working?
- Security answer and question.
The next stage of updating your profile is to confirm:
- The organisation/group you are working with.

- Your current grade code, if you do not have this or you have issues with this, please select the relevant option from the drop-downs.
