HSeLanD is undergoing essential maintenance on Tuesday 9 September from 9 am to 5 pm. During this time, HSeLanD will be unavailable to all users.
This scheduled downtime is necessary to introduce several important enhancements to HSeLanD. These enhancements are part of a wider initiative to make your learning experience smoother, more secure, and more tailored to your needs.
What will be new:
Full Site Sign-On
With Full Site Sign-On, you’ll only need to log in once to access all areas of HSeLanD, including learning hubs. This enhancement makes HSeLanD a single, streamlined platform, enhancing your experience and strengthening overall site security.
Important:
As part of this update, all HSeLanD users will be required to change their password the next time they log in to www.hseland.ie. Support is available to you through the resources and guides in our dedicated HSeLanD Support Tool at support.hseland.ie, through our helpful Virtual Assistant, Emily and the HSeLanD Support team through support@hseland.ie.
Common notification bar
Once you log in, the common notification bar will appear as a menu on the right hand side of HSeLanD and will have the following features:
- Training Alerts and Notifications: Stay informed about key updates and upcoming deadlines.
- Fast-Track Navigation: Instantly return to your last three visited hubs and resources.
- Homepage Access: Return to the main dashboard from anywhere on the site.
- Profile Management: Easily update your profile and role information.
Global search
We have introduced a unified search bar located at the top of the HSeLanD home page that lets you search across all areas of HSeLanD. Whether you are looking for courses, learning hub resources, or the latest new updates, you can now find it all in one place.
Global search provides the following:
- Better search filters: Narrow down your results with improved filter options.
- Categorised results: Results are now grouped by type, helping you find exactly what you’re looking for faster.
Security enhancements
We’ve taken steps to ensure that HSeLanD is more secure than ever. The new single security solution behind Full Site Sign-On means that all access points are protected consistently, and stronger password policies help guard your account against unauthorised access.

The technical improvements we have made now pave the way for even more exciting changes that will continue to build a richer, more personalised HSeLanD experience.
From Wednesday, 17 September, Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) will be enabled on HSeLanD.
What is MFA?
MFA is a security feature that adds an extra layer of protection to your HSeLanD account. All HSeLanD users will need to login using their password and another authentication method once MFA is in place. The HSeLanD team will share more details about this enhancement on the dedicated HSeLanD support page shortly.
